James Hardie Siding at Pigeon Lake

Low maintenance lakefront property

When our customer decided it was time to replace the deck on their lakefront cabin, they decided it would be a great opportunity to upgrade their original wood siding at the same time!

We removed wood siding and rotten trim boards, as well as the ugly (and poorly designed) galvanized foundation flashing that went around (almost) the full perimeter of the structure. The customer selected HardiePlank lap siding in Rich Espresso with Arctic White trim boards. We also installed a brown 26-gauge steel flashing to cover the foundation wall. We think you’ll agree that the new foundation flashing looks way better than the old one ever did!

As a cost saving measure, the customer decided to stick with their existing soffit and fascia. This saved the client over $2,000, which they will put towards renovating the garage on the property next year.

Rich Espresso is one of the newer colours that Hardie introduced to their offering back in 2016. It’s never been as popular as most of the other colours that got added at the same time, but we love it! In fact, when Bjorn picked a colour for his own home, he chose Rich Espresso.
