Royal Redwood Vinyl Siding Renovation

Sometimes you’ve already got the base of what you love with the existing siding, you just need to freshen it up!

Royal vinyl siding in Redwood was the perfect replacement colour for the original siding - and thankfully won’t fade like the old siding did. A dutchlap profile looks sharp and modern against the new window trims and Versetta Stone.

Behind the existing siding, we added 1.5” Enerspan insulation. Because the exterior insulation was 1.5”, we were able to place the siding directly over it (without strapping). And because Enerspan is a breathable insulation product with a consistent R value (no depreciation in cold temperatures or over time), the homeowners will enjoy the benefits of that decision for decades!

At 1.5”, the Enerspan offers an R7.4 in thermal value - a roughly 70% increase in R value in the walls compared to the value of the original insulation. And because the exterior insulation we install is put on in a continuous layer (spanning over top of studs, rather than being interrupted at each stud like the existing in-wall insulation) it helps drastically reduce cold spots on the home.

Replacing the original brick work is Versetta Stone, and the colour is a perfect complement to the new siding. Running all the way over the front wall (rather than being broken into three columns) is a more modern feature, and a standout finish for the front of the home.
