Here’s a project that combines a practical improvement with a major curb appeal upgrade!
When the clients received the results of their energy audit, they quickly decided to proceed with the recommended exterior improvements. They called us in for a consultation, and hired us to install a new James Hardie exterior along with 2” of Iko EnerAir insulation (for a nominal R12 insulation boost). The energy audit also pointed to major heat loss from air leakage through the walls in several areas, so we also included peel and stick membrane to seal up all the gaps in the plywood sheathing (so many gaps) all over the home and attached garage.
The clients chose Deep Ocean HardiePlank, along with Arctic White Roughsawn HardieTrim boards, and Versetta Ledgestone masonry in Mission Point. Brand new soffit, fascia, and eavestrough really brightens up the overall look as well!
The final results? Infrared scans show that the exterior walls are retaining way more heat than before the renovation, and the home has more than 30% less air loss than before. And we think you’ll agree that the new design is a grade-A stunner!
