Hardie and Vinyl Modern Farmhouse Exterior

A stunning and trendy glow-up for this beautiful home, with a design from Om Home Interiors!

A combination of materials transformed the original stucco and siding pairing to something updated and beautiful that still fits the neighborhood. On the front of the home you’ll find a Hardie Panel feature, installed in a board and batten application. That feature carries through on the upper portion of the sidewalls, but is done in a vinyl board and batten. The two products look quite similar, with the biggest difference visually being the spacing between battens (with Hardie we can and did go with a wider spacing, whereas with vinyl siding it will always land every 8”).

Below the board and batten accent on the front of the home is a band of Lux Panel done in gorgeous Knotty Teak. The realistic woodgrain pattern really gives off the effect of a natural wood accent, but won’t require any ongoing maintenance for the homeowner.

White horizontal vinyl is installed on the rest of the front as well as the lower half of the sidewall. A traditional profile of vinyl was selected (rather than a dutchlap profile, which the existing vinyl was) and it gives a bigger contrast from what was there previously, and matches the modern farmhouse style. White Hardie Trim and new soffit/fascia help modernize the look for an overall stunning finish!
