Iron Gray Hardie Siding Renovation

Amongst all of the many things we love about James Hardie siding products, one of our absolute favourites is the ability to combine different textures of the product on the same project with wonderful results. This renovation includes a thoughtful and beautiful combination of three different Hardie profiles.

As a base, the house features Hardie’s 8.25” horizontal Hardie Plank product in a cedarmill finish. Bordering the siding and windows/doors is Hardie Trim in Arctic White, with an Iron Gray Hardie Trim separating the Plank and a vertical Hardie Panel installed in a board and batten application.
On the side gables you’ll see a gorgeous Hardie Shingle accent adding even more layers and texture to the design, all without taking away from any of the natural beauty of the home itself.

Beyond the beautiful look of the new siding, we also worked to update the home to today’s building code wherever possible. The original siding was removed, along with the black paper behind it. After checking the condition of the walls, we installed a peel and stick membrane around the windows and doors - adding both a moisture proof seal to the openings, and an air tight barrier. Along with the new Tyvek wrap installed, this will help to keep warm air in the home in the Winter and cool air in in the summer. Better energy efficiency, and a more comfortable living space!

You can tell the clients selected the right design when a home built decades prior, looks like it was always meant to look this way when the project was done. We had a blast working with them to achieve their vision for the project, and the final results are stunning!
