Boothbay Blue Siding Renovation

We absolutely love how this gorgeous exterior renovation turned out! The homeowners liked the existing wood siding, but keeping up with the cost and time of maintenance and so they decided to make a change.

The wood siding had been installed over original stucco with strapping, so the first thing we did was remove the siding and strapping. The original stucco was left on, and then we installed a layer of 1” Enerspan Insulation. At 1” thick, Enerspan offers an R5 of thermal value - a roughly 40-50% increase in the thermal value of the home’s 2x4 walls! Installed in a continuous application, spanning over top of the studs for minimal thermal breaks. The end result is a significantly more efficient home - warmer in the Winter, and cooler in the Summer.

The homeowners were wanted the support of a licensed designer, so we set them up with Carey Paholek of Om Home Interiors to assist with the design. Together, they came up with a beautiful combination of products, and we were absolutely thrilled to help bring it to life.

Boothbay Blue was selected for the main Hardie colour, and can be seen in the horizontal plank as the main siding product used. Hardie Panel was installed in a board and batten application (also in Boothbay Blue) for a really nice feature in the gables - a nice texture difference to add some visual interest, but not too much so as to distract from some of the other features.

We coordinated with the wonderful team at Justin Avery Masonry to make sure our siding and wall assembly tied in seamlessly with the stunning masonry accents they installed. And finally, the Arctic White Hardie Trim accents used at corners, around windows/doors, and as a separation between the main walls and the gables tied everything together!
