Khaki Brown Hardie Board Renovation

If it ain’t broke…

It was time for a new exterior on this acreage home, but the clients still loved the original design. Therefore, we kept the same style and feel of the original exterior, but upgraded the siding from faded 90s vinyl to brand new James Hardie siding in Khaki Brown.

Since the clients did not want to replace all the metals on the home (soffits, fascia, eaves, and window cladding) we strategically added a few cladding accents in Ivy Green to match what was already there. Ivy Green metals are not nearly as common today as they used to be in the 90s and early 2000s, but the colour is still readily available if you know where to look! Keeping the original metal work saved these clients over $10,000 on their exterior budget. As a little gift to the clients, we also included a few new downspouts to replace the ones that the kids had dented up in their younger days.

As a beautiful finishing touch, we installed the massive beams that the client ordered from a local manufacturer in the Stony Plain area. They pair wonderfully with the Timber Bark Board & Batten Hardie Panel in the gables.

This project proves that even if you don’t make a massive change to your exterior design, new siding and trim boards will still dramatically improve your curb appeal!
