Royal Marine Blue Vinyl Siding Renovation

Another gorgeous siding renovation in Marine Blue from Royal! One of the most popular colours of the past few years locally, and it is easy to see why.

These wonderful homeowners were looking to replace their windows and wanted to address their vinyl siding at the same time. Like a lot of older vinyl siding past the 30 year mark, it had started to fade, crack in a few spots as it got more brittle, and started to oxidize. Replacing the siding after their new windows went in was going to allow them to completely update the look of the home, and provide a better seal for their brand new windows and doors.

From an energy efficiency standpoint, the seal on the home is now much tighter than it was before. That starts with the peel and stick membrane we installed at every window and door, lapping the air tight seal from the sheathing on to the jambs of the windows/doors. This non-permeable seal means less air exchanges year round, helping keep warm air in the home in the Winter, and cool air in in the Summer.
Next we replace the original tar paper with a brand new layer of Tyvek Homewrap. A better product than the tar paper, lapped properly and taped at seams help further increase the air tightness of the home.

And then we’ve got the siding here - two stunning profiles of Marine Blue. The majority of the home is done with a horizontal traditional profile vinyl from Royal. The colour “pops” against the white contrasting corner trims, the gorgeous new windows and the beautiful front door. And as you get closer you get so the subtle Marine Blue shake accent on the second floor. It’s a standout feature that really takes the design to the next level.
