Modern Design with Vinyl Siding
A series of renovations took this home out of the 80s/early 90s and into the present. Prior to our arrival, the homeowner upgraded to a sleek new garage door, gorgeous new entry doors, masonry accent, and black soffit/fascia/eaves. Pay attention to the details on this one, because even the house numbers help create that transition to a modern exterior!
Behind the existing siding was the original tar paper. As a standard at Blue Jay, we replace the existing paper with new Tyvek, and seal all windows with a non-permeable, peel and stick membrane. With the relevant flashings installed too, we bring the building envelope up to today’s building code - ensuring it isn’t just the finishing that looks 2020!
Gentek’s Storm vinyl siding was selected for the siding. Storm offers a much darker gray than would have been available in vinyl siding when the home was built, but is actually part of Gentek’s lighter colour palette. As such, it is less expensive than some darker options, but still provides that standout modern look. Colour matched Storm corners give a monochromatic look that fits perfectly with the new modern style of the home.
