Modern Farmhouse Bungalow Transformation

Sleek urban style in west Edmonton

What a transformation! This standard Edmonton bungalow went from basic old stucco to a gorgeous, modern farmhouse-inspired showstopper.

Prior to our arrival, the homeowner replaced the existing white windows with new black casings. The dark casings “pop” against the new Arctic White Hardie board and batten we installed on the front and back of the home. The sides feature a vinyl siding done in white - offering a great match for the modern farmhouse design, at a lower cost than some of the alternatives.

The Hardie was installed over the stucco (more details on how that’s done here), using pressure treated wood strapping as a level, structural fastening surface. The new windows were built out to accommodate the depth of the strapping and new siding, which makes for a seamless look. Leaving the stucco in place saved the clients thousands of dollars, as well as a messy removal process.

Another eye-catching feature of this design is the wood-look soffits used in the front of the home. The homeowner selected Sagiper’s SagiRev soffit, and it couldn’t look nicer. Finally, a mason installed the stunning brick feature around the front door following our completed project.

This exterior design is the complete package!
