Vinyl Board and Batten Siding Renovation

New vinyl front facade

Are you looking for a curb appeal upgrade, but a full exterior renovation is outside your budget right now? Take a look at this project for some inspiration!

For this project, the client wanted the “modern farmhouse” design style, but didn’t want the expense of removing all the stucco on the house and garage. They asked us to install the vinyl directly overtop of the stucco on the front of the home, and leave the stucco alone on the sides and rear. (After we finished the siding portion of the project, the clients painted the stucco white to match!)

The first step was to remove the huge, 2” thick cedar trim boards (which are a total moisture trap). We installed a foam leveling board over the stucco, and then our new vinyl siding - Mitten Board & Batten in Frost. As an added accent, we included 5.5” Arctic White HardieTrim boards at the corners and 3.5” HardieTrim boards around the bay window. For the finishing touch, we replaced the old brown gutters and fascia with new white ones.

This project proves that where there is a desire to upgrade to a beautiful new exterior design, Blue Jay can help find a way!

Siding: Mitten Board and Batten - Frost

Trim: James Hardie Trim - Arctic White
