Vinyl Bungalow Renovation

For this Edmonton area bungalow renovation, Blue Jay Exterior Renovations helped the homeowner make some wonderful design choices to help create a standout finish while staying within their desired budget.

Rather than removing the existing stucco, they opted to do a Levelwall insulation over the stucco and install the vinyl siding over the insulation. Those choices created dollars saved while adding a small additional R value to the home. Every little bit helps!

Stucco removal is of course a very messy process, and is quote expensive as well. Not only do the installers have to be paid more for the time consuming removal, we also send thousands of pounds of concrete and wire to the landfill every time we remove the stucco from a home. Whenever clients choose to have us install new siding over the existing stucco, we can save them money, time, and we divert waste from the dump. I’d call that a win-win!

Of course, there are times when removing stucco is the only option. If you have any concerns about moisture leakage or rot repairs, leaving the stucco in place doesn’t give us a chance to evaluate the home for damage, or installing a new weather barrier. If you’re deciding between full removal and a simple cover-up, reach out to us and we can discuss your options!

White corner posts were used to tie in the new windows and create a beautiful contrast with the Heritage Blue vinyl siding from Royal Building Products. And finally a PVC Novik Stone River Rock accent was added around the front door to add further curb appeal and an interesting feature at the front entrance.
