Vinyl Siding with Accents Exterior Renovation

major exterior makeover in south Edmonton

The owner of this south Edmonton home was ready for a new exterior look. They had lived with old pink stucco for long enough! The called Blue Jay for a design consultation, and settled on a beautiful new vinyl siding and masonry exterior package.

First, we removed the sections of wood siding, and in these locations installed a layer of Tyvek Drain Wrap underlayment. Next, we installed IKO EnerAir insulation throughout the whole exterior - 3/4” thick panels on top of the original stucco, and 1.5” panels where the wood siding had been removed. From there, we installed Royal vinyl siding in the colour Wedgewood. The client selected Versetta Ledgestone panels in Northern Ash to accent the two front windows, as well as the main entry door. The entry door also received a second accent, with 6” V-Groove Lux architectural panels, in the colour Saddle. We also installed aluminum cladding on the windows so that the siding and insulation didn’t hang out past the window frames.

Another unique feature of this project is the tiered steel fascia board. We ordered a custom steel fascia cladding from a local metal shop, and maintained the look of the 3-step fascia on the front and rear peaks. It’s a small detail, but it adds texture to the roofline, and it’s a nod to the original design style of the neighbourhood too!
